Introducing Real Technology to Enable IoT Systems and Applications

In Southern Italy there are rumors and excitement for an innovative technology that allows anyone with basic knowledge and a do-it-yourself attitude to promptly enable a wide range of cyber-physical systems for the IoT.

The technology consists of two main IoT-enabling tools:

  • an end-to-end control device that enables other devices and electro-mechanical systems (home appliances, industrial machines, street furniture, etc.) to be controlled via the Internet through a device-agnostic hardware-software interface of connected actuator-sensor and expansion modules; and
  • a cloud- and mobile-accessible platform that enables people to remotely control their devices and manage interoperable IoT systems and applications.

Using these tools, IoT systems and applications developers and enablers can prototype, engineer, and deliver high quality cyber-physical systems for smart home and city applications.
