C&T Solution Inc. reveal their brand new Type 6 COM Express system-on-module (SOM) at Embedded World, featuring the latest Bay Trail Intel Atom, up to the quad core E3845 CPU. Employing dual SODIMM sockets, the CE-6BT-01 provides up to 8 Gb of the latest DDR3L high speed memory, alongside a modern I/O suite including quad USB 3.0 and dual PCIe expansion and usefully the optional offer of 16/32 Gb onboard eMMC flash.

Intriguingly for a SOM, the CE-6BT-01 natively supports a wide voltage input of 5-19 VDC without the need for a separate PSU, whilst the option of a -40 °C to +85 °C extended temperature option furthers its claim of universality.

What also leapt out at me is the integrated TPM (trusted platform module) security feature, increasingly important in today’s security conscious world.

Look for daily updates about what you can expect to see at Embedded World as we get closer to the show on February 24-26.
