DFI came into COMPUTEX with some recent news, having moved into a new headquarters this past fall with plans on expanding its manufacturing space, and based on their well-rounded international success, it’s not difficult to imagine why. Unlike some of the other vendors mentioned in this recap that are attempting (and at times struggling) to advance beyond the APAC market, DFI enjoys a notably rare equilibrium in geographic sales distribution, with 29 percent of its revenues coming from Japan, 30 percent from the U.S., and another 20 percent out of Europe. Most of these wins come in gaming and healthcare, says Jarry Chang, Director of DFI’s product marketing department, with much of that resulting from collaborations with International Game Technology (IGT) on secure-by-design building blocks for slot machines (DFI is in roughly 40 percent of Vegas casinos).
